Dr. Terry Max has been providing general, prosthetic, restorative, cosmetic and implant dentistry to Palm Beach County for over 35 years. Dr. Max’s gentle, collaborative approach with patients combined with their masterful dental skills and artistry have made their practice a trusted leader in the community.

Dr. Max draws from extensive knowledge accumulated through years of studying with the Masters of Dentistry at diverse locations around the world as well as advanced training from top dentistry programs at Harvard, Tufts, University of Geneva, Switzerland, and the University of Miami.

With an excellent reputation for solving the most difficult dental cases, Dr. Max is not only a go-to dentist for referring dentists and doctors; he is also a mentor to other dentists. Dr. Max has been recognized for “raising the bar” in several practice areas including aesthetic implants and reconstructive dentistry. He was awarded the Pierre Fauchard Award for Clinical Excellence and the Jonathan Award for professional development. Today, a number of the dentists he mentors are presenting his work in dental programs at prestigious universities across the U.S.

In his Boca Raton, Florida office, Dr. Max employs the most advanced dental technology to afford quick and comfortable treatment. He carefully assesses each patient’s dental condition, discusses treatment options in detail, and collaboratively works with each patient to decide the most appropriate and effective treatment path.

The office team is comprised of friendly and experienced dental hygienists along with an on-site dental lab staffed with hand-picked, highly skilled master lab technicians with advanced dental degrees. Together, Dr. Max and his knowledgeable staff provide superior dental care for South Florida and referred patients from across the country.

Training

With a true passion for dentistry and a love of knowledge, Dr. Max has extensive advanced dental training. He stays at the forefront of the best dental treatment and the most advanced dental technology. His continuing education includes advanced training in implants, occlusion, facial pain, aesthetic dentistry, and reconstructive dentistry from Harvard University , Tufts University, Boston University, University of Geneva, Dawson Center for Advanced Studies, The Seattle Institute, The Center for Advanced Dental Learning, the LD Pankey Institute and the Center for Professional Development.

Dr. Max completed his residency at University of Florida, Occlusion & Facial Pain Center and his externships at the renowned University of Miami School of Medicine and Jackson Memorial. Dr. Max graduated with honors from the University of Detroit, Mercy School of Dentistry and holds a BA from University of South Florida.

Dr. Derek Gatta grew up in Newport, RI and has had the chance to practice in many locations from his time in the Navy, including San Diego, Bahrain and Washington DC.  After graduating from Vanderbilt University for undergrad, he moved to Ft. Lauderdale for Dental School at Nova Southeastern University. He was awarded a military commission and served eight years in the Navy achieving the rank of Lieutenant Commander. He began his Navy career at Camp Pendleton, where he completed a General Practice Residency (GPR). He next served in Bahrain, home of the Navy’s fifth fleet, and worked as a general dentist. Following that tour, he was selected to attend the prestigious Prosthodontic Residency at the Walter Reed National Naval Military Medical Center in Washington, DC. He is a board-certified Prosthodontist and a diplomat of the American College of Prosthodontists.

I love the challenge of my job and appreciate the scientific and artistic skills necessary to be successful.  I understand what it feels like to lack confidence in your smile.  As a child, I broke a front tooth and was also in braces.  After I was treated to repair the damage, I regained a positive self-esteem, which inspired me to go to Dental School and provide that same sense of wellness to others.  I am committed to helping you get your life back with a confident smile.  Complex rehabilitations are my specialty and I look forward to working with you.   When I am not practicing dentistry, I enjoy traveling, tennis and skiing.

I deliver world class oral health care with superior customer service.  My goal is to help patients get their lives back who have delayed treatment for fear of judgement or embarrassment.  I am a Board-Certified Prosthodontist who specializes in complex oral rehabilitation.
